CONCLUSION
This subject has been approached by us at its highest level but
brought to you in its basic form.
It is hoped that having read this brochure you should now see that
you do not need a university degree to understand the water chemistry,
and it certainly isn't exactly rocket science that we are talking
about. You should now have a better understanding of how the basic
elements within the water work together to give us the various readings
that relate to the hardness, softness, acidity or alkalinity.
You must remember that it is possible to sort out any water problem
by identifying its cause, rather than trying to treat its symptom.
Therefore we cannot stress enough the fact that REGULAR maintenance
of Bio-filters is essential as is the need for regular weekly water
changes. The use of ALL SIX TEST KITS is imperative in order
to monitor and be able to prevent major problems occurring in the
aquarium.
The responsibility lies with us all to ensure that we provide our
fish with the water they require, rather than putting them in the
water that comes straight from the tap that we cannot be bothered
to check or treat and can be potentially lethal for our fish.
It should be remembered that certain fish like certain water, so
a soft water fish MUST HAVE SOFT WATER, if you put it in
hard water IT WILL DIE, just the same as a marine fish will die
if you put it in fresh water. We list the PH & GH ranges on
our price list for all the fish that we sell so that it is easy
to see what water parameters we keep our fish at. By putting your
fish in the water they need you will see a big proportion of secondary
problems and losses disappear, all by themselves.
Happy fish are healthy fish, they can only be happy if they are
in the correct - WATER QUALITY
